The Mustard Seed Ensures No One Spends Thanksgiving Alone

The Mustard Seed Ensures No One Spends Thanksgiving Alone

Thanksgiving will be shared one meal at a time in Medicine Hat this year, as The Mustard Seed prepares and delivers individual turkey dinners to shelter guests on Friday, October 10. Each meal is a reminder that compassion has no barriers, and that no one should have to be alone during the holidays.

“Thanksgiving at The Mustard Seed is a celebration of community care,” says Laura Giesbrecht, Senior Director Food Services. “It’s a reminder that hope grows when we come together.”

Each year, The Mustard Seed’s Thanksgiving dinners offer warmth and dignity to hundreds of people experiencing poverty, homelessness, or isolation. Volunteers, staff, and community members come together to prepare hearty, home-style meals and share gratitude.

The Mustard Seed’s work is only possible through the continued kindness of community members who donate food, funds, and time throughout the year.
