Medicine Hat Brewing Company was established in 1912 in Medicine Hat, Alberta, by Charles V. Drazen. The brewery operated until 1922, facing challenges such as fires and the prohibition of alcohol, which ultimately led to its closure. In 2016, the Vancuren family revived the brewery, drawing inspiration from its early 1900s heritage to shape the branding of their taproom and beer names. Since its reopening, the brewing area has undergone three expansions, while the restaurant has added a patio and, in late 2022, a private events room named the Charles V. Drazen Room. The Taproom features 22 taps of craft beer, all brewed on-site, along with a full bar and a full-service kitchen offering table service. The restaurant also provides private catering in the events room and limited off-site catering throughout the city. During the warmer months, the patio is a popular spot, often featuring live music.
